Product Testing

Berndorf Belt Systems, Inc. (BBS) has the capability to run tests on your product(s) in our state of the art test center in Elgin, IL, provided your material meets our health and safety requirements.

Here we carry out two (2) standardized tests on your product(s):

Feasibility Test:
Tests are performed to determine the suitability of the product in BBS processing systems. This test is free of charge and requires approximately 10 pounds or 1 gallon of your product. Firm estimates of equipment size are generally not obtained from feasibility tests. Flow, temperature, and stickiness characteristics are gathered and examined based on similar product ranges.

Production Test:
Tests generally require one or two full days work by our test center staff, using our pilot production process systems. The purpose of this test is to provide the data for production guarantees. These trials require a small fee which includes all out-of-pocket expenses and directly related expenses. Product shipping costs to and from our facility are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in this cost. These tests require approximately 120 lbs of product and are scheduled approximately one month in advance. Tighter test schedules may be accommodated based on availability of our testing engineer and the lab availability.

Guests are welcome and encouraged to witness the test at our facility (travel costs paid by customer). A complete video and test report along with product samples are produced for the customer's records. In order to evaluate the suitability of your product for our facilities, we require a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a completed BBS Product Data Sheet. After review you will be contacted by our test center engineer. The engineer will assign a test number, and invite you to forward samples of a specified quantity for testing.

Please be advised that all materials must be returned to you after testing. Samples will not be accepted at our receiving dock without a reference test number, your return authorization number, and preprinted return shipping labels.
